The World Bank is launching a regional energy efficiency program in Europe and Central Asia. Projects have already started in the Republic of Moldova and Turkey to save energy and reduce CO2 emissions. Under the 10-year E3 program, the bank is allocating $1.46 billion, leveraging another $2.4 billion from various sources. Renovation of public buildings and central heating systems has already begun in Moldova. The program also supports the use of sustainable financing and aims to cooperate with the public and private sectors to improve energy efficiency.
