The Ministry of Education has prepared a plan to reorganize several educational institutions, and the plan will have to be approved at the government meeting on May 23. Here is the list of changes:
1. The vocational school from Alexandareni, Singerei district, will be included in the Center of Excellence in Services and Food Industry in Balti.
2. The Gheorghe Asaka College in Lipcani will merge with the Ion Creanga Pedagogical College at the Aleku Russo University.
3. The vocational school in Cupcinj, Edinet district, will merge with the vocational school in Corbu, Dondusan district, and so on.
The authorities explain that such changes are related to the low number of students in the educational institutions. Out of 77 vocational schools, only 26 have a sufficient number of students, according to the Ministry of Education. Some 459 employees will be affected by the reorganization. Some of them will be offered jobs after the merger, while the rest will be compensated according to the law.
