Tiraspol soccer club Sheriff has identified its possible opponent in the UEFA Europa League play-offs for the 2023-2024 season. If Belarusian BATE make it to the third preliminary round, then Sheriff will meet the loser of the UEFA Champions League match between Ko Klaksvik from the Faroe Islands and Molde from Norway. The first game will take place on August 24 away, and the return match will take place on August 31 in Tiraspol. If Sheriff qualify for the Europa League playoffs, it will guarantee a place in the group stage of the UEFA Conference League.
The next match against BATE is scheduled for August 10 in Tiraspol and August 17 at the stadium in Mesőkövesd, Hungary. In case of defeat, Sheriff will continue its path in the UEFA Conference League, where in the playoffs it will play the winner of the match between Balkani from Kosovo and Lincoln Red Imps from Gibraltar.
It is important to note that this season Sheriff defeated FC Farul from Romania 3-0 in extra time in the first qualifying round of the Champions League, but lost to Maccabi Haifa from Israel 1-0 and 1-4 in extra time in the second preliminary round.
