The government, at the proposal of the Ministry of Health, approved the change of prices for medical services and the introduction of new tariffs, which will be effective from 1 July. These changes will not affect insured persons and are aimed at updating the tariff policy, which has not been revised since 2011.
Minister of Health, Alla Nemerenko, explained that the update of tariffs is necessary for the introduction of advanced methods of treatment, requiring the use of expensive medical equipment and consumables. For example, the cost of consumables for complex surgeries, such as extracapsular cataract extraction with eye reconstruction, has increased significantly, and the new tariffs reflect this reality.
These changes also affect the contractual relationship between the National Health Insurance Company and medical centres. The new tariffs will apply from 1 July 2024 so that the institutions and the insurance company can adapt their information systems.
