From 1 April, allowances for children without parental care in Moldova will temporarily increase by 13.4%. This decision reflects the average annual consumer price index for 2023. Now, the daily allowances for children placed in different social services will increase from 20 to 23 lei on ordinary days, from 167 to 190 lei on birthdays and from 119 to 135 lei on holidays. These allowances are paid to children starting from the fifth grade and until they reach the age of 18. The state budget for this purpose amounts to 15.2 million lei this year. About 2,900 children placed in social services will benefit from these allowances.
