In an interview with Yuri Dudem, Maia Sandu explained why she prefers to stay in her apartment in Chisinau rather than move to the presidential residence in Condrita. She said that this choice helps reduce management and maintenance costs, and allows her to be closer to her workplace, saving her traveling time.
Moreover, Sandu specified that the residence in Condrita is used for social events, including reception of Ukrainian refugees and meetings with students from different regions of the country.
Regarding the question about the presence of a fence around the presidential residence, which was mentioned in the interview, Sandu explained that the decision to keep it was made due to economic considerations. Nevertheless, the gates of the residence remain open, which symbolizes accessibility for all citizens, regardless of the presence of the fence.
