Authorities in the Republic of Moldova have announced the launch of a new citizen alert system for emergencies using mobile phones. The government has approved an agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development to implement this project, estimated at 37.4 million euros.
As part of this initiative, not only will alert systems be installed, but vehicles and equipment for emergency response will also be procured. The modernization will also target hydro-meteorological services, allowing for improved weather forecasting and enhanced collaboration in this area.
Additionally, there are plans to create a new reserve fund aimed at addressing the consequences of natural disasters.
