The “Chance” party was fined more than 20,000 lei for violating the law on personal data protection.
The court ordered the party to pay three fines: 7,500, 5,000 and 10,000 lei. According to the prosecution, under the guise of social projects, the party members collected signatures and data from identity cards in several villages from Cantemir and Ialoveni districts.
The law-enforcement bodies found out that these lists should have been transferred to the party’s territorial offices, but the necessary data protection measures were not observed.
The decision was made by Judge Petru Paun of the Chisinau court, Buiucani branch. This is reported by anticoruptie.md.
