The GRT regional television channel in Gagauzia has been fined 15,000 lei for violating the rules regarding the placement of political advertisements. The channel provided the candidate for the position of Governor of Gagauzia, Nicolae Dudoglo, with 23 times more time for paid pre-election advertising than what is allowed by law. This information was reported by the Broadcasting Council (BC), as reported by tv8.md.
According to the statement from the Audiovisual Council, the program titled “Discussing Together” that aired on April 18, 2023, at 18:00, contained pre-election advertising for the independent candidate for the position of Governor of Gagauzia, Nicolae Dudoglo.
According to the legislation, each election participant is allowed a maximum of 2 minutes per day for paid pre-election advertising. However, the program dedicated to Nicolae Dudoglo lasted 46 minutes and 50 seconds.
