At today’s press conference, the leadership of the Socialist Party of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) stated that it will defend the votes of its citizens and their desire for justice by all legal means, including peaceful protest actions.
The party mentioned that the upcoming parliamentary elections can only be free and democratic if the Central Election Commission and the National Integrity Agency are freed from political pressure, and if the leadership of the Audiovisual Council and the “Teleradio-Moldova” company are dismissed due to bias and manipulation in favor of the ruling party. It is also necessary to depoliticize the Constitutional Court, which has become an instrument of power, according to PSRM.
The party calls on other political forces that seek societal unity and free elections to support these demands.
PSRM leader Igor Dodon mentioned that, after the elections, Maia Sandu and the PAS party began calling for unity, despite previously working to divide society and spreading hate and xenophobia. He also noted that the party is ready for political pressure and the use of the prosecution and justice system, which are controlled by PAS.
Special attention was given to the issue of voting abroad, which PSRM intends to analyze closely and present its position soon.
The party called on citizens for broad consolidation and stated that on November 3, the first step was made in the fight against the current political regime. They expressed confidence that next year there will be a change in power and the Republic of Moldova will return to political and economic stability.
