The National Agency for Food Security (NAFS) has confirmed two cases of African swine fever in Ungheni and Cahul districts. Laboratory tests conducted on July 31 revealed the presence of the virus in domestic pigs at a pig farm on the outskirts of Petresht in Ungheni district, and at a non-professional farm on the outskirts of the town of Kyshlitsa Prut in Cahul district.
In order to prevent the spread of the disease, local emergency commissions have developed comprehensive measures to combat and eliminate the disease outbreaks. The organization and implementation of these measures are aimed at ensuring the safety and protection of animals, as well as preventing further spread of the African swine fever virus.
