The same procedure will apply to social benefits granted to families with children. Today, Parliament adopted a draft law which provides for the automatic calculation of benefits. Now, these benefits will be automatically established by the National Social Insurance Fund, based on the available information in the national information systems. There will be no need to submit an application and provide additional documents to receive social benefits, as mouldpres.md reports.
However, if someone other than the mother represents the interests of the child, the person who fulfils this role (father, guardian, curator) will have to submit an application. The same rules will apply to the lump-sum birth allowance and monthly allowances for child rearing.
According to statistics, in 2024, 33,115 mothers receiving the lump-sum birth allowance and 114,346 children receiving monthly allowances until the age of 2 or 3 will benefit from these benefits. This new mechanism will also simplify the process of receiving social benefits for almost 2,300 children with disabilities.
