An additional 310 air purification devices were installed in the capital’s trolleybuses and buses. As part of the MOVE IT like Lublin project, the European Union provided almost 1,000 bactericidal recirculators in 2022 and 2023.
Currently, about 500 transport units of the municipal enterprises “Regia Transport Electric Chisinau” and “City Bus Park” are equipped with such bactericidal equipment, which is able to purify the air in the interior of the transport.
According to a report from the Chisinau City Hall, the cost of this improvement exceeded 144,000 euros. This initiative aims to create a safer and more comfortable environment for public transport passengers, reducing the likelihood of bacteria and viruses spreading inside the cabin.
