Lifetime Disability Pension checks have been initiated in three districts of the country to rule out fraud. Next year, all beneficiaries in this category will be rechecked. The Minister of Labor and Social Protection said that the verification process has already begun in areas where there are reasonable suspicions of fraud or falsification of the system. Teams will be set up to go to these areas and people who have received lifetime disability will be invited for re-examination. The Minister emphasized that suspicions exist, but persons are presumed innocent until proven otherwise. Such a measure is necessary for the correct and equal distribution of financial resources in the pension and social security system. The Minister noted that the aim is to ensure that people who really need help receive it and those who do not need it do not receive it, given the limited financial possibilities.
