This rule applies if a driver breaks the law multiple times within a year. The press secretary of the National Police Inspectorate, Anna Kiselitsa, stated that since the beginning of this year, over 10,400 drivers have been fined for failing to yield to pedestrians, according to www.moldpres.md.
“For failing to give priority to pedestrians, the driver faces a fine between 1,500 and 1,800 lei and five penalty points. If the violation is repeated within a year, the fine increases to 2,250-2,500 lei, and the driver may lose their driving license for 30-45 days,” said the press secretary.
