“Exemption of trade unions and employers from state registration fees: Government changes in the social sphere”
According to the current tariffs, trade unions and employers had to pay the state registration fee to the State Services Agency, which amounted to a significant sum. However, a bill has been proposed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection that aims to exempt social partners from this obligation. This change in the social sphere will ensure greater equality and better conditions for trade unions and employers.
Many European countries already do not charge a state fee for the registration of associative entities, and Moldova is following this path in order to eliminate the inequality in registration fees for trade unions and employers’ organizations. This important decision supports the right of workers and employers to freely form and join unions and associations.
Also, statistics show an increase in the number of registered organizations, especially in the public sector, which confirms the interest in establishing trade unions and employers’ organizations. This may contribute to strengthening social dialog and developing partnership between workers and employers.
