
The meeting took place with the IMF’s Resident Representative in Moldova, Roger Chavani, whose term is ending, and with the new IMF representative in the country, Svetlana Cherovici. They discussed the development of the Economic and Financial Policy Program between the Republic of Moldova and the IMF, as well as macroeconomic prospects.
The officials also discussed the possibilities of obtaining new financial resources to support economic growth, enhance the country’s stability, and accelerate reforms. Maya Sandu emphasized that Moldova is interested in establishing long-term partnership relations with international financial institutions that are ready to provide necessary assistance for the development of the economy and the well-being of citizens, especially during periods of regional uncertainty. She also expressed a desire to collaborate in efforts to mitigate the consequences of climate change.
