Viktor Parlikov, speaking in the Dialog Deschis programme, announced that the reduction of natural gas tariffs is expected in the second half of 2024. According to him, for this to happen, it is necessary to use up the gas purchased last year at higher prices. Parlikov also emphasised that ANRE had already reduced tariffs in the summer, and he expressed hope for additional price reductions, provided that the gas is sold cheaper.
The energy minister said that it does not make sense now to reduce tariffs at the end of winter due to low consumption. He predicted a revision of tariffs closer to autumn 2024, given the gas reserves that will be built up by summer.
Parlikov stressed the importance of energy efficiency in buildings, noting programmes in this area. He emphasised that, despite lower rates, energy bills could decrease significantly with improvements in building energy efficiency. The official also noted that energy efficiency standards are already mandatory in the construction of new houses, and energy efficiency certificates will become mandatory in property transactions.
