“15 November marked the three-year anniversary of Maia Sandu’s election as president of Moldova. However, the Party of Communists considers this date a ‘black day in the country’s history’. In a statement, the PCRM Central Committee criticised Sandu, refuting her claims of defeating the corrupt regime.
According to the communists, Sandu has violated the principles of the Constitution and legislation by ignoring the principle of separation of powers and restricting citizens’ freedoms. They also claim that her personal animosities towards certain personalities have led to legal defeats in international courts.
The party emphasised violations of citizens’ rights and freedom of speech, noting the closure of TV channels and publications that disagreed with Sandu’s actions. The Communists believe that censorship and surveillance of the opposition has been established in the country.
The PCRM Central Committee calls for the unification of political forces to free the country from Sandu’s tyranny. They consider this an important task to ensure Moldova’s freedom, independence, democracy and European perspective.
The party concluded that the approaching four-year anniversary of Sandu’s election should be the moment of her final defeat. In the past, PCRM leader Vladimir Voronin has also criticised then-President Igor Dodon, calling him a ‘so-called president’ and expressing the opinion that anyone else in the position would have been better than Dodon.”
