The wheat harvest in Moldova is expected to be 30% higher than last year, which creates the preconditions for lower bread prices. Farmers are concerned about low grain prices, but the Ministry of Agriculture claims to have taken measures to support agriculture. Favorable weather conditions have enabled good wheat development, and now it is harvest time. However, farmers are facing difficulties, as wheat prices do not recoup the costs and efforts required to obtain a high harvest. In this situation, the government provides a set of support measures, including financial assistance, to help farmers. This year’s wheat harvest will exceed one million 200 tons. This can stimulate the revision of bread prices and alleviate the financial difficulties of farmers. The total area of wheat crops is more than 315 thousand hectares in the Republic of Moldova.
