In 2024, two bridges on the bypass road of Balti municipality will be repaired using public funds. The works, planned for the whole year, are a cause of concern for the local administration due to the diversion of traffic through the city. While the State Road Administration assures that heavy vehicles will bypass the municipality, Balti Mayor Alexandru Petcov expresses his dissatisfaction, pointing out the lack of coordination with the local authorities. He emphasizes that he is not going to allow the trucks to move along the central streets.
The senior inspector of Balti IP, Serghei Midrigan, notes the need to study the possibility of bypassing the railroad and warns that heavy trucks cannot pass through the municipality of Balti. The repair works will be carried out simultaneously on two bridges, which will limit the traffic on the city’s bypass road. The traffic reorganization plan envisages directing heavy vehicles to other roads, bypassing the Balti municipality. The sum allocated for the works amounts to 61 million lei.
