The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) announced that the population census data was initially planned to be published by the end of December 2024. However, due to the complexity of the methodology, the data processing took more time. Now, the preliminary results will be published by January 31, 2025.
The delay was caused by issues related to the lack of IDNP for more than 30% of the people interviewed, which required manual data comparison. Additionally, analyzing and editing the information required additional resources.
The preliminary results will include information about the population, such as gender, age, place of residence, geographical distribution, and ethnocultural characteristics. The final results will be published gradually over a period of 12-18 months after the completion of the census.
The population census took place from April 8 to July 7, 2024, with approximately 2.4 million people participating, and more than 1.6 million buildings being inspected.
