Starting from January 1, 2025, the State Tax Service (SFS) will be granted the right to sell confiscated and seized goods. Previously, this task was performed by the Customs Service. This is outlined in the draft law on amendments to the budgetary, fiscal, and customs policies for 2025, which was approved on December 18 at the government meeting, according to deschide.md.
The main goal of the draft law is to improve fiscal and customs legislation, establish the rules for applying the Fiscal and Customs Codes, and enhance their efficiency.
Finance Minister Victoria Belous explained that the changes aim to simplify administrative procedures, eliminate uncertainties, and create a more transparent and efficient system that will support both taxpayers and state authorities.
The Ministry of Finance emphasized that these measures will contribute to modernizing the fiscal system and improving the conditions for conducting business.
