Hundreds of residents of Congaz village supported the idea of creating an amusement park for children and young people at public hearings. This project was selected for implementation in Congaz village, the largest in Gagauzia. The information was provided by Mihail Vlah, advisor to the Bashkan of Gagauzia.
“It was decided to create Oguz Land in Congaz, as this village is located in the centre of Gagauzia. It is easily accessible from Vulcanesti, Ceadir-Lunga and Comrat districts. This is an ideal location for the development of tourism, leisure activities for our children and the whole region,” he explained.
The amusement park will be located on the southern edge of the village, close to the Svetlii commune, and will require 3.4 hectares of land.
“There are 27 hectares of land on this site that is currently vacant. We considered the option of a camp, but there was not enough space there. Also, this land is owned by foundations and the state chancellery would have denied us this option. Therefore, it was decided to locate the park here,” Vlah added.
The bashkan’s advisor also emphasised that the project will create new jobs and will be a gift from the investor for the village.
Local residents welcome the initiative:
“It is necessary to build this. Our village is big and children need a place for entertainment. Kongaz is the most beautiful and biggest village,” noted one of the men.
“This is a great idea. This park is the future for children and adults, and it will create new jobs,” said one of the girls.
“Young people here often face the problem of unemployment, and the creation of the park will probably solve this problem,” added a woman.
Residents of Kongaz village had the opportunity to express their opinions and suggestions on the project during the public hearings.
