At the moment, 610 thousand households have applied for heat compensation. Labour Minister Alexei Buzu announced that the financial support from development partners will be used to provide compensations directly to citizens’ accounts.
“The expected compensation budget for this year is LE 2.7 billion. These funds are a combination of financing from the country’s budget and from development partners,” Buzu said.
Last year, more than 760,000 Moldovan households received compensations for electricity, heat and natural gas totalling 3.7 billion lei, a significant part of which was provided by external partners.
According to the Labour Ministry, the compensations will be provided in the form of discounts applied to the bills for the mentioned services, as well as in the form of monthly cash payments of 800 lei. It is important to note that the compensations are available only if applications are submitted.
