The Republic of Moldova will celebrate its 32nd anniversary of independence on August 27. A range of cultural and artistic events have been planned for the capital city. The festivities will commence with a flower-laying ceremony at the monuments to Herr Stefan cel Mare and the “Sorrowful Mother” memorial. The official inauguration of Moldova’s Independence Day will take place at the Great National Assembly Square, with the attendance of high-ranking officials.
Throughout the day, the square will host a concert featuring various musical groups, ensembles, and orchestras, including the Presidential Orchestra, the exemplary orchestra of the General Inspectorate of Carabinieri, and the Border Police brass band. The event will also showcase performances by the national ballet “Joc”, the folklore ensemble “Romanița”, the symphonic orchestra of the National Philharmonic Society, the national orchestra of folk music “Lăutarii”, and artists from Moldova and other countries. The festival will conclude with a powerful choir performance by “Moldovenii când se strâng”.
Moreover, from 12:00 to 16:00, there will be an event called “Talking to Citizens” near the Government House, where Prime Minister Dorin Recean, cabinet members, and heads of state institutions will engage in discussions about state programs and emphasize the importance of citizen participation for the country’s development.
Additionally, various events commemorating Independence Day will take place in all towns and villages across the country.
