With only a few days left until the grand opening of the main Christmas tree in the capital, the Chisinau Mayor’s Office has revealed details of the festive programme planned for the winter holidays.
On 23 December, the Christmas Fair on the Great National Assembly Square will start, as well as the lighting of the Christmas tree.
According to information from the municipality, from 17:00, a variety of artists will perform on stage, including the choir “Vocile Primăverii”, the violin ensemble “Diversity”, pianists Iurie Mahovici and Anatolie Lapicus, as well as many other talented performers.
The highlight of the evening will be a recital by Stefan Benicke Jr. And on New Year’s Eve, 31 December, everyone is invited to the musical show “New Year’s Extravaganza” in the same square, starting at 20:30. The evening will be about saying goodbye to the old year and welcoming the year 2024, featuring well-known artists including CARLA’S DREAMS and others.
Also, on the eve of Christmas in the old style, on 6 January, a concert of folk music and winter customs called “Creştini, Crăciunul a Sosit!” is planned in the Great National Assembly Square, starting at 18:00, with the participation of various artists and orchestras.
In addition to the entertainment on the square, the City Hall has also envisaged an ice rink, a carousel and a photo zone in the square of the Cathedral.
