Moldova’s ambassador to Israel announced the launch of regular flights between Tel Aviv and Chisinau, starting from 1 November. These flights will be operated by two airlines – IsrAir and Arkia. A direct telephone line for purchasing tickets has been opened to facilitate the return of Moldovan citizens to the country.
The first IsrAir flights are scheduled for 1 November and 5 November 2023, while the first Arkia flights are scheduled for 2 November and 5 November 2023. Moldovan Ambassador to Israel, Alexandru Roitman, said that both companies plan to operate two flights per week, and are ready to add additional flights if necessary. Ticket prices will be available and can be purchased through a special telephone number.
The ambassador also said that there are difficulties in organising the evacuation of Moldovan citizens from the Gaza Strip, due to the impassability of the Rafah crossing point on the border with Egypt. Many Moldovan citizens were working in Israel before the conflict started, and efforts are underway to evacuate them.
This initiative aims to ensure the safe return of Moldovan citizens home from the conflict zone in Israel.
