In Moldova, since the beginning of October, 36 people have been poisoned by carbon monoxide, including 9 children. This is reported by the National Center for Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance.
The majority of poisoning cases were recorded in the central part of the country — 22 cases, of which 12 were in Chișinău. In the north, there were 8 cases, and in the south — 6. After receiving first aid, 26 victims were transported to medical institutions, including 18 adults and 8 children.
The emergency center reminded that the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning can vary depending on the duration and intensity of exposure:
– **Mild form:** headache, dizziness, nausea, fatigue.
– **Moderate form:** chest pain, confusion, blurred vision, tachycardia.
– **Severe form:** loss of consciousness, seizures, arrhythmia, respiratory failure, possibly death.
