Today, the authorities announced an important stage in the construction of an overhead power line between Vulcanesti and Chisinau. The first foundation that will support the electricity poles on this line has been completed and tested.
The project was carefully designed and supervised by the United Unit for the Implementation and Monitoring of Power Construction Projects (UCIPE). The foundation was constructed using modern methods, from excavation preparation to compacted earth backfill. A special rig was used to lift test the foundation.
This foundation has an impressive load-bearing capacity of over 45 tonnes, which meets the requirements for the tallest metal supports in this line, which will reach a height of about 50 metres.
The construction of this overhead power line is a strategically important project for Moldova and its energy security. The 61 million euro project, financed by the World Bank, aims to provide reliable electricity and improve the country’s energy infrastructure.
