Despite the excellent weather and the short vacation that fell on June 1st and 2nd, hundreds of people left their homes to spend the weekend at the beaches of Chișinău. However, doctors strongly recommend not to swim in the city lakes due to water contamination by various dangerous bacteria. This information is reported by tvrmoldova.md.
One of the alternative recreational areas has become Valea Morilor Park, which has become an oasis for those who had days off during the European Political Community summit. However, many people who visited this place noted that it is in an unsatisfactory condition.
Although the sand on the beaches has been disinfected, public health specialists strongly advise against swimming. The water in the lakes of Chișinău is polluted, which can lead to bacterial infections.
One of the specialists stated, “Water can cause various infections, fungal diseases, and viruses. Small children often develop fungal infections on their scalps, as well as other diseases that require treatment in a hospital setting. For example, if they have a fungal nail infection, the treatment can last seven or eight months.”
June 1st and 2nd were declared days off for budgets in connection with the European Political Community summit.
