The number of available flats in Chisinau is decreasing, which leads to an increase in the cost of housing. Last year, average prices increased by 10%, and this trend is expected to continue next year. Property agents note a decrease in supply, while demand remains high. Data for last year has not yet been published, but in the first nine months of this year, about 10,600 transactions of buying and selling flats were registered. The number of offers has also decreased on adverts websites. Experts predict that house prices will continue to rise until 2024 as new homes are not immediately available. Rising rents and lower mortgage interest rates are also contributing to rising housing prices in the capital. Housing starts fell by 18 per cent in the first nine months of this year. The cost of living space varies from 900 to 1,200 euros per square metre, depending on the type and condition of the flat.
